RUSTON AND HORNSBY DS88
'97088'
This loco arrived at the railway from Starbeck. It was preserved from C.F.Booths scrap yard at Rotherham, where it was used as their shunter. It has been fitted with vacuum brakes (probably the only one preserved to be!) so that we can use it on our passenger trains.

LEFT, This picture shows this loco in its previous livery, and named 'OCTAVIUS ATCKINSON' after the steel company that hosted the railway on site at Starbeck.

LEFT, This picture shows the loco being 'loaded' onto the low loader at Booths of Rotherham, on it's way to preservation at Starbeck.
