No 8

This loco was brought to our railway in 1991, partially restored by several members of the former Hull Locomotive Preservation Group at Dairycoats in Hull. Restoration continued on site at Murton, and the loco first steamed in 1994. No8 has seen several years use at the Derwent Valley Light Railway, untill the expiration of its 10 year boiler certificate in 2002. This loco then spent 3 years out of service whilst it had its 10 year boiler overhaul and general mechanical overhaul, before successfully passing it's steam test the week before our 2005 Santa Special season. This loco has also been repainted from NCB black to green, but the final painting and lining is still to be completed.
