'RUN ROUND LOOP'
Below is an overview of the work that has gone into creating our run round loop. This will be opening at EASTER 2010. We will then cease operating our trains in 'top and tail' mode. A new timetable will be introduced and will revolutionize the way we currently operate

This was taken after the initial clearance of the undergrowth. The trackbed is wide enough for double track formation, which is common among the length of the DVLR, however, the line was always single.

This was taken after the removal of all of the old track and the trackbed was been graded for the new track, as well as digging off the excess soil and clay where the loop line will be built. This was all done using a mini digger.
1/3/2009.
The first sections of the 'new' track are re-laid.
15/3/2009.
The pointwork at the start of the loop starts to take shape.
26/4/2009
Huge step of progress. Most of the loop and main line are in place and we have started construction of the set of points at the western end of the loop.
16/5/2009
All of the track in place, we are ready to start tipping the ballast.
16/5/2009
03079 hauls the ballast train, and is the first time we run a train round using the new loop.
