PHOTOGRAPHS OF John Fowler 'CHURCHILL' AT DUNNINGTON

The oldest diesel loco that we have preserved on the Derwent Valley Light Railway is John Fowler 0-4-0 'Churchill'

This locomotive is a native of the Derwent Valley Railway as it was used for many years as a shunting locomotive at the Grain driers at Dunnington. Once the company closed, the loco was driven to the site of the Yorkshire Museum of Farming and donated to the museum, so the loco has never left the line for a lot of its history. The loco has been a valuable asset to the railway, being used for passenger trains on many occasions. These pictures here show it at Dunnington and are all courtesy of Geoff Cryer.
